Perfect Game 2020 Southeast Elite All Tournament Team – 8.3.20

Andrew Mannelly (2022, Atlanta, Ga.) connected for loud barrels this week and hit at a clip of .545 for the tournament. Mannelly’s swing produces easy power to the gaps, a trait that helped him collect two triples in four games. The 6′ 1″, 195 pounder already has some present strength to his frame and the Marist student has used that pop to club three home runs this summer.

Andrew Mannelly, a lefty, has a steep bat path that is suited to driving pitches low in the zone with authority. Using a lift-and-replace timing mechanism from a wide base, Mannelly is adept at decelerating his front side with an impressive ability to roll his front ankle over while maintaining a fixed front knee at contact, which results in solid bat speed and adds quality length to the swing. The uncommitted outfielder has both a swing and a body that project extremely well and it won’t be long before his name begins to come up in recruiting conversations with greater intensity.

Family Athletics History

Andrew’s father, Bernard Mannelly, played football at the University of Notre Dame and was a member of the 1988 National Championship Team. His uncle, Patrick Mannelly, played football at Duke University and for the Chicago Bears – 16 years (1998-2013). His maternal grandfather, Donnie Allen, played fullback at the University of Georgia from 1968-72. Andrew’s older brothers both play D1 College Sports. Ryan Mannelly is a tight-end playing football at the University of Pennsylvania and Joseph Mannelly is a left-handed pitcher playing at Georgia Tech.
