Scouting Report - Marissa is a coach’s dream. A multiple sport athlete who’s accomplishments are second to none. She comes from an athletic family and has the raw athletic talent to play multiple positions and performs extremely well anywhere she is placed, although catching is her primary role. She is the prototypical catcher who has the strength and stamina required to be extremely effective on defense. Marissa is consistent and possesses the ability to throw runners out at second as well as blocking home plate on attempted steals from third. One of her strongest attributes is the ability to hit for average with power. In addition, she is the top producer on offense: .440 BA, 28 RBI and 22 Runs Scored in the 2005 season. Her accomplishments include being selected to the “All Area First Team For the Atlanta Journal Constitution” as well as the “Georgia Coaches Association All State Second Team.” Her most impressive qualities are her consistent bat, low strike out ratio and a showcase arm on defense. Marissa is as fierce a competitor on the diamond as she is in the classroom demonstrated by her 3.75 GPA as an Honor Roll Student. Her coaches feel that with her work ethic and athleticism she will be a collegiate stand out.
