Gary Matthews, of Baltimore Maryland, joins the C.H.A.M.P.S. team and has been named as the Mid-Atlantic, Regional Scouting Associate.  Gary’s background as a sports writer and overall sports enthusiasts makes him a great fit.  In addition, his vast and extensive experience in multicultural marketing, advertising and promotion are proving him to be a valuable asset.  Gary is quickly establishing himself to be a mover and a shaker by reaching out to potential prospects and their parents, as well as High School Coaches, Athletics Directors, and Amateur Athletic Programs all over the country; to include the Greater Baltimore Area, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, New York and Boston…. no moss grows under his feet.

He left a lucrative job in corporate America to embark on a totally new career in ethnic and diversity communications, as well as develop internships for students of color in the sports media relations field. As a former sports reporter Gary feels minorities need to become more involved in providing information about the ethnic markets. “I feel long-term success of African-Americans as well as other ethnic groups depends on our ability to foster a team concept,  as well as a future that reflects togetherness as it relates to information in our community and in sports media services.”
