Jen Sansano Signs St. Bonaventure University, N.Y. – Softball
Clarence H.S. Clarence, New York   11.17.09

Any parent who has a high school student-athlete with scholarship potential at the collegiate level wants nothing more than to do anything possible to assist their child in making that dream become a realization.
Most of us will only have one opportunity to make that happen and will read everything we can about the college recruiting process, talk to others who have already been through it for their advice and eventually formulate a plan of our own. While many have the time and talents to do the necessary daunting work, I did not. I sought out professional marketing companies to assist me and my daughter in our efforts and my search led me to Mark Gleason and C.H.A.M.P.S. Mark was straight forward, honest, flexible and sincere in all my conversations with him. He was easy to get in touch with and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. Mark was easy to work with, insightful, organized and committed to getting the national collegiate exposure I wanted my daughter to have as an elite softball pitcher in WNY with Division 1 ability. Within days of posting her resume on the C.H.A.M.P.S. web site dozens upon dozens of colleges were responding requesting her video and information pack. All totaled were 118 colleges and universities within a matter of weeks. Her Youtube videos have had 2000 views. When my daughter had a (literally) last minute opportunity to play in a large college showcase tournament in California, I e-mailed Mark the details and schools attending the day before and he, I’m sure, worked tirelessly into the night sending out press releases to all the coaches and schools in attendance to inform them which team my daughter was playing on and her schedule so they might see her play. And, in fact, many did follow through because of his efforts. Our dream was recently realized when my daughter verbally committed to play D-1 softball at St. Bonaventure University on a full scholarship in 2010.
Choosing C.H.A.M.P.S. to assist us as part of our recruiting strategy was extremely helpful to getting the kind of collegiate exposure necessary to finding the right opportunity for my daughter. I would highly recommend any parent without reservation to work with Mark Gleason and C.H.A.M.P.S. and let him work his magic for your prospective student-athlete’s dreams.
Sincerely,
Michael Sansano, Jr., M.D.

Eric Jay Phillips Signed Georgia Southern University – Baseball
Carrollton H.S. “Male Athlete of the Year 2008”
Second Team All America 2009
Southern Conference All Freshman Team 2009

As a 3 sport athlete at Carrollton High School, Eric’s summers were dominated by his high school coaches, which gave him no time to gain exposure by playing travel baseball. Fortunately, he played in a high school program that made the playoffs each of his last two years. It was during his senior year of baseball that CHAMPS founder, Mark Gleason, saw Eric play in a playoff game against Dunwoody High School. When he asked those around him where Eric would be playing in college, Mark was surprised that Eric was unsigned and not being recruited heavily.

Mark approached my husband and asked if he could promote Eric through CHAMPS. We agreed! In just a couple of days, Mark had sent Eric’s profile out to over 100 schools and within 5 days, Mark had game video of Eric on his site. Eric was immediately contacted by over 40 schools in all divisions – D1, D2, and JUCO. Eric signed a D1 scholarship with Georgia Southern University in late June.

If playing college ball is a goal, then Mark and CHAMPs is a great way to showcase your child to many schools with relative ease, thanks Mark.
We are very thankful for all Mark did for Eric!

Mike Yancey/Jennifer Yancey                                  1.23.09 CHAMPS

Mark Gleason brought instant recognition to my daughter, who is trying to extend her softball career at the college level. Mark makes us feel like we are his only client, even though he has many others. Whenever we have a request, he responds right away. He is very accessible. Mark put together a quality video that highlighted all of her skills. I highly recommend using Champs to help your child increase their opportunities. The recruiting process is very competitive and requires a lot of time and effort. Mark will make the process easier.

Richard Pirkle Signed Georgia College & State University – Baseball
All Conference DH Freshman Year

Hope this helps get you lots of business.

We discovered Mark while Richard was in the 11th grade. Mark interviewed Richard, wrote a bio and went to many games taking pictures (offensively and defensively) that he used to make a CD of Richard. Mark continuously talked to Richard about what he wanted to accomplish and made suggestions as to which schools might be a good fit.
The fees that Mark charged were well worth it. Mark produced a great video and bio to pass out at camps and showcases. In addition, Mark sent copies (and e-mails) to schools we were interested in and many more we were not familiar with. He tracked all the responses and followed up when needed. All this information was reported back to us. All in all, our son was exposed to much more than we could ever have done on our own.
Richard decided to attend GCSU and was given a scholarship to play baseball. Many thanks to Mark for helping Richard achieve his goal of playing college baseball.

Kevin Ruiz Signed University of Georgia – Baseball
Merit Scholar – UGA Honors Program

Ivan and I wanted to thank you for all of your hard work in preparing the video of Kevin. As I look back on the past year, I am still awed by the amount of time you spent coming to our games and filming Kevin. The end result was something that truly grabbed the coaches’ attention. Your loyalty to Kevin and your sincere desire to help him in his lifelong dream to play college ball will be something we can never repay. You truly care about your clients as is evident in the work you do.  Thank you so much for your kindness, your sincerity, and your friendship.  GO DAWGS!!!!!!

Marissa Handley Signed Grambling State University Softball

I thoroughly enjoyed the recruiting process with Mark Gleason; he developed a strategy early and involved the parents and the athlete in the process.  He continuously kept us abreast of the number of schools that he sent the video to and the date and time that they reviewed it.  The video was very professional and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing it with others.  I would recommend Mark Gleason to market your athlete without a second thought!

Landon Bennett Signed Wofford College Football and Baseball

Mark, it has been 2 years since I contracted with you to help me market my son Landon to colleges. That first experience was very successful & it gave Landon multiple choices for football & baseball. He chose Wofford because they would allow him to play football & baseball but we would have never looked at them if not for your help. He is doing great academically & athletically… in fact he will be on National TV (ESPN2) on 10/31/08 vs Appalachian State for the Southern Conference Championship rights.

Now it is time to market my other son Blake who is in his senior year. I would have gotten you involved last year but Blake was injured & did not have highlight film we needed for colleges. The reason I selected CHAMPS originally was because of your personal involvement & services. No other recruiting firm could film my son at local games & add that film to the schools highlight film. Plus because you were on the field it gave the colleges a really nice birds eye view of my sons skills. In addition you did a great job of doing information update drops to certain schools & that really helped coaches stay in touch with Landon’s progress. What I have learned going through this process with Landon is these coaches have very little time to evaluate tons of kids so anything you can provide them to make their job easier will help all parties involved.

Give me a call & lets talk about what I need for Blake…

Regards,

Vic

Connor Winn Signed Georgia Tech – Baseball
Top 25 High School All American

When you have a son or daughter who may have the ability to “play at the next level” you never know what action might be the one that connects you with the college of your choice. If you are like me there is confusion as to which showcases to attend, how to contact colleges of interest, what those colleges will and won’t look at, and the list goes on and on.

You will have many advisers such as coaches, friends and others who have been through the process. Mark will help take the confusion out of the process and give you clear answers to the best proven approaches. Mark will work tirelessly in recording game time action. He will compile the video in a format college coaches will appreciate. He will forward it to the coaches of colleges your child has interest in attending. He will be a good friend and have plenty of time for conversations regarding progress.

You never will know what will “work” in getting that scholarship but I suggest you consider Mark as part of your strategy.

I am pleased to say my son received a scholarship to play baseball at Georgia Tech.
